App privacy · Updated October 9, 2026
MotePilot is developed by PIT SOLUTIONS LLC. This policy describes how the app handles information. The browser demo has a separate website privacy policy.
No MotePilot account required
The app does not require a PIT SOLUTIONS account. TV pairing and any account used by the TV’s own services are separate. MotePilot contains no advertising or analytics SDK and does not upload your saved TV list or remote-command history to a PIT SOLUTIONS server.
Your TV, on your network
MotePilot communicates with TVs and streaming devices you choose on your local network. Discovery uses network services to find compatible devices. Remote commands and keyboard input are sent to the selected TV. These connections do not pass through a PIT SOLUTIONS server.
Your TV, its apps, and its service providers may handle information under their own privacy policies. Some TV protocols use unencrypted local connections, so use MotePilot on a network you trust.
Saved devices and pairing
Device names, network addresses, capabilities, and settings are stored on your device so you can reconnect. An optional saved network hardware address is used for supported wake commands. Pairing tokens, keys, and certificates are kept in the operating system’s Keychain.
The app shares the device information and credentials needed by its widgets and controls within its protected app group. The companion Apple Watch app receives a device list through Apple’s Watch Connectivity service and relays commands through your iPhone.
Keyboard and TV assistant input
Keyboard text is sent to a compatible TV input field when you choose to submit it. A TV may also report its current input text to the app so the keyboard can reflect that field.
Voice is optional and requires microphone permission. When you start a voice session, audio is streamed to the paired TV’s assistant while the session is active. The app limits recording to 15 seconds and stops it when the session ends, the app becomes inactive, or an interruption occurs. Audio already sent cannot be recalled by closing the session.
Typed assistant requests are converted to speech on your device and sent to the TV through the same assistant connection. MotePilot does not save voice recordings or send them to a PIT SOLUTIONS server. The TV’s assistant provider may process and retain requests according to its settings, account permissions, and privacy policy. MotePilot does not control that provider’s retention.
Optional tips
Optional tips, when available, are processed by Apple’s App Store. The app receives product information and verifies transactions through StoreKit. PIT SOLUTIONS does not receive your card details through the app, and the app does not send transaction receipts to a PIT SOLUTIONS server.
Diagnostics and support
The app keeps up to 100 recent diagnostic events in memory, including operation outcomes and timings. An exported report includes those events and the app/build and operating-system versions. It excludes TV identifiers, pairing secrets, keyboard text, and the contents of voice requests. The app also writes technical events to the operating system’s logs. It does not automatically upload diagnostic reports to PIT SOLUTIONS.
If you choose to share a diagnostic report, your selected sharing service receives it. If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you send through our Zoho business mailbox to respond to your request. Please do not send passwords, pairing keys, payment details, or other sensitive information.
Apple services and feedback
Apple handles app distribution and updates. Depending on the distribution service and your settings, Apple may make crash reports, usage information, and feedback you choose to send available to us, including screenshots you attach. Apple’s own privacy terms apply to its services. See Apple’s privacy information for details.
Your choices
You can revoke local-network and microphone permissions in your device’s Settings. You can remove saved TVs in MotePilot and clear the app’s in-memory diagnostics. Your TV or assistant account has separate controls for information it receives. Apple controls operating-system services, backups, and App Store purchases under its own policies.
